Disable/Enable Stock sync Logics
  1. Stock sync main logics:

IMPORTANT:

Stock sync works with this formula:

Physical stock = Processing stock + Campaign stock + Safety stock + Available stock

If stock sync is enabled:

  • Stock level of the same SKU will be equal on different stores and equal to Available stock on PowerSell.

  • If a new order is created, the stock quantity in that order will be added to Processing stock, and the stock quantity of Available stock will be immediately deducted, leading to the deduction in stock quantity of that SKU on all stores. 

  • After the order has been processed, the stock quantity of Processing stock will automatically deduct the stock quantity that has been processed, leading to the deduction in stock quantity of Physical stock .

 

SOME IMPORTANT RULES ABOUT PHYSICAL STOCK UPDATE:

  • The system will not reset Processing stock back to 0 if Processing stock is displaying the stock quantity of processing orders. The current and new orders will be recorded to the history of Orders pending.

  • How to calculate the stock quantity of Processing stock: Right after an SKU is linked to PowerSell inventory regardless of Stock Sync status, the system will count all existing orders with status Pending & Ready to Ship on Seller Center as Processing Stock. This rule is applicable to both inventory products which are Sync activated and Sync deactivated.

  • If a new order is created from a linked SKU, the stock quantity in that order will be added to Processing stock, and the stock quantity of Available stock will be immediately deducted.

  • The stock quantity of Processing stock will be calculated in the last 30 days, starting from the day of updating the new Physical stock, leading to the change in stock quantity of Available stock.

  • If processing orders have changed status to Shipped or after Shipped, the stock quantity of Physical stock will be deducted accordingly.

NOTE: When Stock sync is deactivated:

  • Available stock will not be synchronized with the stock level of other linked SKU(s) on platforms during stock sync deactivation.

  • However, PowerSell still calculates the stock quantity of Physical stock, Processing stock, and Available stock based on the above Stock sync formula.  

  • Stock levels of other linked SKU(s) on platforms can be updated in the All Products Listed section.

FOR EXAMPLE:

  • Physical stock of inventory product A is set to 100, with Campaign stock = Safety stock = 0

  • When an order with 12 items is created, the Processing stock will change to 12. 

=> Available stock = Physical stock – Processing stock – Campaign stock – Safety stock

                                 = 100 – 12 – 0 – 0 

                                 = 88

  • After the order’s status has changed to Shipped, Processing stock will change to 0, leading to the stock change in Physical stock also.

=>  Physical stock = Processing stock + Campaign stock + Safety stock + Available stock

                                 = 0 + 0 + 0 + 88

                                 = 88

II. Some other important tabs in inventory product’s details:

  1. Orders pending:

All existing orders with status Pending, Ready to Ship or Reserved will be listed under this tab.

  1.  Orders delivered:  

  • Orders with status Pending, Ready to Ship, Reserved will be moved from Orders pending to Orders delivered tab right after its status are changed to Shipped and After Shipped (eg: On Delivery, Delivered, Failed to Delivery)

  • If Physical stock is manually updated (either single update or bulk update from Excel file), the list of Orders delivered will be reset. Only new orders updated to Shipped & After Shipped status after that will be recorded on the list.

  1. Activity history: 

Includes all actions made by users regarding Stock sync feature (except for mass update stock level from Excel file)
